Whoo! This is 35 you guys! It also marks the 5th anniversary of this sweet little business of mine being totally “official”!
I have shared the history of how this little venture came to be, but never in a million years did I believe or dream that it would be what it is today and I’m just so incredibly excited for what is to come. I am also SO thankful to all of you who have followed along in this journey of dessert making: from the crappy little boxed cake and canned frosting cakes I created for my daughter’s birthdays to the temperamental macarons, detailed sugar cookies and over-the-top cakes..I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for the requests and the interest that you’ve had in having a “Cake Mama” treat be a part of your special day. To think that I’ve continuously made cakes for over 10 years is really something to take a moment and marvel at. I have always been known as the “Jill-of-all-trades” but I never thought that baking would be one of the passions that would take me to this very moment in life.
I have thought for months and months how I was going to celebrate a monumental birthday and business anniversary…hello?! I’m in my MID-THIRTIES NOW. (I still think I’m 25 LOL) I thought about having a party, but my anxiety immediately set in and the first thing I could think of was, “what if nobody wants to come?” LOL. Soooo, scrap that idea..LOL. I thought about hosting a pop-up shop with all of my favourite local vendors to come and celebrate, but then I thought it was a huge undertaking that I was scared I couldn’t pull off. Finally I thought, what about taking a moment to feature a few of my favourite local businesses that creates products that I absolutely love and in some way ties in to The Cake Mama? Well that worked out beautifully!! I have curated 4 different local businesses who have graciously put together a lovely package to giveaway! Who is the fifth you ask? Well, ME of course!!
