Coconut Marshmallow Drop Cookies

It may be obvious that I adore baking custom cookies full of detail and pretty colors, but there’s something to be said when a recipe can be whipped up quickly! (see what I did there? 😉) These Coconut Marshmallow drop cookies are easy to make and this recipe is sure to be one you’ll add to your holiday baking repetoire! Whenever I make create recipes, I intentionally make them larger batches because honestly, who only ever bakes a dozen cookies?! The holidays always call for a sweet treat to gift or serve so this recipe can do just that! These coconut marshmallow cookies are pillowy soft with bits of the marshmallow, with a slightly crispy edge and seriously, you won’t be able ...

Pumpkin Bundt Cake with Spiced Holiday Nog Glaze

Winter is just around the corner and the house is filling up with the cozy scent of cinnamon! While people tend to put the idea of pumpkins out of their minds after Halloween, pumpkin flavoured anything is the definition of the season. I'm not a PSL person by any means, but this Pumpkin Bundt Cake with Spiced Holiday Nog Glaze will make anyone ask for another slice! This cake has notes of gingerbread with the traditional spices and a subtle pumpkin finish. What really ties it all together is the Holiday Nog glaze! Never heard of Holiday Nog? Casa Cake Mama: Building Our Dream Kitchen with Ikea – Part 3

Today’s post is probably the most exciting part of the IKEA Kitchen installation process: ACTUALLY installing your kitchen! I’ll tell ya, seeing a kitchen you designed on a computer to having it all come together in real life is so incredibly rewarding. If you watched my Q & A session on Instagram, you’ll know that we built our kitchen around managing a household with 3 kids and a slew of other projects, so getting to the point where our cabinets weren’t just hanging around the living room was a huge sense of accomplishment!  In my final post about our journey to assembling our kitchen, I’m sharing how the cabinets were installed, what the finishing pieces are and how they ...

During the week period between possession date and move in date, we had our contractor do all the demolition in the kitchen so that we wouldn’t have to be around for the bulk of it. In classic renovation form ...

Casa Cake Mama: Building Our Dream Kitchen with IKEA – Part 1

The time has come my friends to share our kitchen renovation story! It’s been 4 months since we moved into our home in Kelowna and if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know we jumped right into tearing up the existing kitchen the moment we took possession of the house.  The kitchen had a pony wall with a bar type table that was far too short to be functional and count as counter space and just large square footage with nothing in the middle - truly wasted space. We knew when we looked at the house that the wall would have to go as well as the closet pantry.  We also knew we loved the idea of a really big island where we could prep and store all of our dry goods instead ...

A Very Vegan Thanksgiving

Are you ready to have the most delicious Thanksgiving that is completely packed with flavour and best of all cruelty free?! I have gotten some questions about the types of dishes I prepare for this iconic dinner as we are now 2 years into eating completely animal free. How crazy is that?! It's felt like it's zipped by. We have certainly navigated our way through huge hits and fails and have a good understanding of what types of dishes the whole family will love. Each year Thanksgiving dinner is hosted by my parents and we usually bring a couple of dishes that I know my kids will enjoy and aligns with how we eat- spoiler alert: we're the only ones that eat a fully plant based diet in ...
