Best 5 Things I’ve Done For Me in 2021

Hello my sweet friends, I knew when I went into my stories this afternoon to ask you whether or not you read regular ole blogs anymore that most of you would say no, LOL. But what I didn’t know is how many of you would be sweet enough to say, “I love following you but I just don’t have time to read these days!” This compelled me even more to write even though despite the response on the poll. Truthfully I was going to write anyways. 😂 2021. 25 days in and as much as I wanted it to feel “different” in the ways most New Years do, it doesn’t- at all. I’m sure we can all relate that even though we’re all moving forward in some shape or form, every day just sort of feels like a repeat of ...

Easy & Delicious Vegan Spiced Pumpkin Scones

If you know me well, I am not typically a pumpkin spice kinda gal. When the PSL comes out from Starbucks I immediately cringe! I mean who wants that mixed with their coffee?! What I love most about this recipe is that it requires one bowl, hands that are ready to get a little messy and lots of aromatic spices. You may recall my recent obsession for the pumpkin spiced tea latte? These scones smell just like it! You may also like my Pumpkin Bundt Cake recipe! Click HERE! Easy & Delicious Vegan Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Frosting

Did someone say chocolate cake! This recipe has been my go-to for a couple of years and it is originally created by Gretchen Price in her Modern Vegan Baking cook book. If you haven't visited her website, you just must- she makes the most amazing creations! If you asked me what flavor of cake is my favourite I would usually say vanilla but THIS chocolate cake is incredibly delicious and paired with the right filling (think chocolate, cookie butter, coconut, peanut butter!) it is really out of this world! I've adapted the recipe to be able to create 3 x 6" cake layers but you can easily fill 2 x 9" pans with the same amount of batter and get some really nice tall layers of chocolate ...

When In Wine Country: An Okanagan Guide to Vegan Wines

If you've ever visited the Okanagan, you'll know that wine touring is one of the top tourist activities to partake in here. The views are beautiful, the wines are delicious and usually the company is lovely too, LOL. Did you know that the wine you love may not be vegan? Or better yet, did you know that wine isn't always vegan? I know, crazy right?! It all comes down to the fining agents used in the preparation of the wine. Some wineries use isinglass (fish bladder) or egg albumin (egg white) as fining agents. I know your mind is blown right about now! Fortunately there are PLENTY of wineries that don't use these fining agents and prefer to use bentonite clay instead. I'm so pleased to ...

Camping With The Cake Mama: Vegan Style

One of my fondest memories of my childhood are the summers we spent camping for weeks and weeks with my family. Having a family of my own, I have enjoyed being able to share camping traditions and experiences with my kids. Among all the biking, swimming and campfire-ing we do when we camp, camp food is definitely one of the things I look forward to preparing! When we went vegan, I thought (as many of you might) that planning meals for a week of camping might be more challenging. I'm here to tell you that it is the LEAST stressful part about preparing to go away LOL! First off, the food spoilage/contamination issue is essentially a thing of the past. Because you're mainly stocking up with ...
