I did it!! ✨ I did the thing that I have wanted to do for a while and didn’t have the guts to do….🥁🥁🥁 I got tattooed! 🖌️ It was such an awesome experience and I’m so happy with the results. I have wanted to get tattooed for a while but could never land on what to get. It’s no surprise that when my grandpa passed away how big of a hole he left in our hearts. I wanted something that would be with me everyday so I chose to get my maiden name Twaróg in his handwriting. 🥹 The second was a no brainer, something that I’m passionate about- baking! The piping bag is a tool I use all the time so it made sense to make that the focal point of The Cake Mama Bakery branding. I put it on my left forearm cuz I’m a lefty and this forearm is strong from all of that squeezing! 🤭 Thanks for coming along on this little journey of mine. 🪻FLOWER IDEAS FOR YOUR GARDEN 🪻 Save this for garden inspo! I’m a big fan of perennials - aka “set it and forget it” type flowers that will return each year without me having to do much. Veronica Ever After - these can be cut to the ground in late fall and can double in size each year! ☀️ Prefers full sun. Lavender - make sure it is a perennial variety as some are only good for one season. These too can be cut down a few inches for good regrowth. ☀️ Prefers full sun. Russian Sage - another plant the bees adore! These ones can be cut to the ground if you only want small bushes. I cut them down so they were about 12” tall to encourage more fullness! ☀️ Prefers full sun. Feverfew - these will continue to bloom even after you clip some for your home. These can be cut down and will come back each year! ☀️ Prefers full sun. Hydrangeas - dead head these to promote more floral growth after they’re spent. I only like to clip down to the next leaf set from the heads so they stay full! 🌤️ Prefers partial sun. 🍒 Cherry Strudel 🍒 Have lots of cherries that you need to put to good use?! Try this quick cherry strudel recipe that will be gobbled up in seconds! Ingredients: 1 pkg prepared puff pastry dough (i use tenderflake - accidentally vegan!)
2 1/2 cups cherries pitted & sliced
3 tbsp flour
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp vegan butter for brushing on top
2 tbsp sugar for sanding Instructions: Preheat oven to 375°F. Roll out puff pastry in a rectangle shape approximately 11” x 15”. In a bowl combine flour, cherries, sugar and cinnamon. Spoon onto the center of the puff pastry. Fold the top and bottom of the pastry to create a seal then fold one side over the cherry filling and the other pinching down to completely cover the cherries. Brush vegan butter and sand with sugar then make 1/2” diagonal slices with a knife. Bake for 30 minutes or until pastry is golden brown. Allow to cool for 20 minutes to allow filling to thicken.
